Faye's Class

The mini book taught in Faye's class. I just love the colours in this, and can't wait to get stuck in and finish it. We did this class last so I still have a lot of work to do on it. I was so impressed with how easy it was to make your own little album and really personalise it in this way. I will be doing more of these I am sure.

Scrapcamp Projects

Wow, what an awesome weekend. We laughed, and talked, scrapped and shopped, ran through the rain and got to know each other, we did everything to excess, except sleep. I was very tired when I finally got home. Stopped off at Auckland to spend Sunday night with Mum after I kept losing concentration - a very pleasant interlude. Was wonderful to get home again though and give all my boys a cuddle. Funny how I was so looking forward to getting away from them and when I do, I can't wait to see them again!

Yolande and Lianne did such a wonderful job organising this weekend which was really evident by the way everything ran like clockwork - huge effort guys, I am so pleased I made the effort and came down.

This layout was done in the class taken by Wendy. I love the simplicity of the layout and the techniques she taught us on how to create our own chipboard embellishments. I can see me using this format a lot in upcoming projects.

Next up is the layout that Nic taught. This is probably my favourite of the weekend, I love Nic's style and the simplicity of the layout made to look even more stunning by the very simple techniques of inking the edges of the paper and then rolling the paper in places, so cool and the colours are just perfect.

This last layout is what I created out the challenge pack that we were given 24 hours in which to create something. I was panicking to start with as the papers are not something I would normally choose to use. This eventually came together and I am really happy with the result. The boys even like the layout which really surprised me with all the flowers and butterflies in it.

2 nights.

Tonight and tomorrow night and then I drive down to Rotorua for Scrapcamp! Too exciting, can't wait! I am really looking forward to being away from my scrapping subjects for the weekend and being surrounded by lots of ladies with at least one interest the same as mine.

Got a few pics back from Digitalmax today so now I can spend tomorrow planning my page kits, toss a few clothes in a bag and then I will be ready.

Detention

Well that took forever creating a header pic and swapping all my links over and still a bit of mucking around to do. Sorry if I worried anyone with my comments yesterday, it was not meant to sound like that and everything is fine :-)

Ali came home from school on Wednesday and announced that his whole class had a detention the next day because someone farted in the corridor and no one would own up. Come on, it is a boys school! We were even more astounded when we found out it was the science teacher who was giving the detention - wouldn't that have led into a lesson plan on making smells etc! Yesterday he said the one of the boys paid another kid $2 to own up and take the blame. The kid who took the blame was told not to do it again and they all got off the detention except for the one who paid the $2 and didn't turn up! I guess there is a lesson in there somewhere.

This time next week I will be halfway to Rotorua for Scrapcamp - can't wait, but freaking out about all the homework that I should be doing in the way of getting photos etc organised. Must stop playing cards and mucking around with this blog and get ready. Someone mentioned the Polynesian Spa to me the other day and I am wondering whether I will have time to squeeze that into the weekend. Sounds delightful.

I am not really neglecting my blog. Lots going on at the moment that I don't really want to talk about on here and that is occupying a lot of my mind - will try and think of something else to say and post then.

Happy Birthday Babe!

Happy Birthday to my bloke! I think I must have cooked too good a dinner because I am sitting here sucking on a scorched almond (traditional pressie) typing this with my eyes just about closing. Birthdays on a weekday suck when you are a parent - life just goes on really and you get to do exactly the same things as normal except being woken up earlier so you can get the present bit out of the way and still not be late for everything that has to happen!

Happy Mothers Day

Yay, finally I can show you the bouquet I made for Mum for Mothers Day - we took it to her yesterday and surprised her in the garden. She loved the flowers and loved seeing us. Thanks to Nic for the idea of the flowers. We all had a wonderful day starting with pressies in bed and then a humungous breakfast. The boys were sooo good in the car on the way back from Auckland too, they spent pretty much the whole trip recalling details and memories from our trip round the States. Kids not fighting on the drive home has to be the best mothers day present ever!

I have decided to ditch my blog at blog.com because I don't like the changes they have made and can't work out the photos anymore. I have a pile of work cut out for me now changing all my details and things over - I will get there though!
